Landscaping Wish List

Pioneer families-weeders wanted!

If you have an hour or two, great progress can be made in weeding the front.  Grasses, scotch's broom and thistles are common weeds out there.  Just pull them up, make a neat pile of the weeds, and they will be trucked away.  Places needing weeding are:

    1. The long beds by the car entrance, bordering parking.
    2. The beds by the bike racks.
    3. The beds on the drive to the bus parking in the back (grass especially here).
    4. The beds across from the car drop-off zone-grass again.

Call Erin McDonnell (357-3915) if you would like to help with any aspect of the front or back gardens.

Thanks to the great helpers who cleaned out the prickers and invading grasses in the back!  Super job.  We are now replanting.

If you would like to donate a hardy herb or flower, please call Erin McDonnell (357-3915) with your donation.  Thank you to the Howard and Pantelis-Zacker families for your donations.

Good choices of plants are:

  • helianthimum
  • salvias
  • Russian sage
  • coreopsis
  • acanthus (bear's breeches)
  • dianthus (carnations)
  • aurinia (basket-of-gold)
  • bergenia
  • asters
  • daisies.

Think what blooms early in spring or in fall.  Herbs would be lovely too.

If you would like to make a donation of compost, that also would be lovely.

Do you have ideas for Fall?  Please let us know.
